"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31
This was one of was Michele's favorite scriptures.
She was always on the go, seemed to have every minute planned, and still managed to not be late. She had a love/hate relationship with technology and sometimes, much to her chagrin, was tempted to use them as frisbees!
She enjoyed traveling with her husband Dave. They went on many adventures across the United States and Mexico. Their activities included, volleyball, bicycling, and playing card games with family and friends. They enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, football, and keeping abreast of politics. She also enjoyed playing tennis, taking walks, and playing the piano.
She looked forward to hosting Super Bowl parties, trips to Aspen, and the Boulder Dinner Theater. Always on her schedule were trips to Arizona, California, and Mexico to see family and friends. She loved going out to dinner with family and close friends, and sharing a great glass of wine. We would often tease her that she didn't need to learn how to cook, because she knew how to order!
Even though she was busy, she had a unique way of being still and was able to listen to others' hearts. It was amazing how she would remember and honor the special occasions of others. She was a very sensitive, caring, and generous person. She would listen to God and follow His lead to minister to those around her. She had such compassion, caring for her mother, and her husband as they endured their last days on this earth. As she faced troubles and trials she would often quote "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 and, "God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
She was truly a "California girl", loved the ocean, and spending time on the Island with family and friends. She would marvel at the dolphins and whales in route.
However, there was a "Rocky Mountain spirit" in her as well. She would often escape to the foothills and enjoyed the views of the majestic mountains and sunsets. She was always thrilled to get a glimpse of wildlife. She avoided hitting city critters, as they would scamper across the street in front of her, sometimes giving her passengers an additional thrill to enjoy as she gave grace to squirrels and bunnies!
She loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She attended church, Crossroads while in Colorado, and Harvest when in California.
How do you sum up a lifetime of one who was so full of life? She was an only child, but has more sisters and brothers than one can count. She loved, and is loved. She will be greatly missed by us left behind, but welcomed home by those gone before her.
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
Psalms 116:15
