Obituary of Nancy Jean Baker
Nancy Jean Baker (Milano) passed away on September 19, 2022. She was born on November 6, 1942, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Anthony and Ruth (Larson) Milano. Nancy graduated from Louisville High School, class of 1960. Following graduation, she worked at Melody Homes as a buyer and later at the Adams County Sheriff’s office in an administrative role. Nancy married her high school sweetheart, LeRoy “Lee” Baker, and they eventually settled in Erie. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and were best friends for over 65 years. They raised two children, Renee Loewen and Chris Baker. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her beloved partner, Lee. She is survived by her daughter Renee (Dennis) and son, Chris (Jennifer). Nancy’s pride and joy are her cherished grandkids: Amanda, Andre, Alyssa, and Aidan, and her great-grandkids, Ivie and Charlotte. Anyone who knew Nancy knows she was a selfless caregiver and excellent cook. She learned how to cook from her Italian grandmother who immigrated to Louisville, CO. Nancy’s favorite pastime was spending time with her family, both immediate and extended. She also enjoyed relaxing at her cabin at Red Feather Lakes, cooking family meals, and spending time with her grandkids. In lieu of gifts, please send donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
