Our mother’s name was Nga Thi Thu Nguyen, she passed away at the age of 65 with a heart condition.
Nga was born on September 6th, 1957, in Vietnam. She was the fifth child of Bui Thi Cang and Nguyen Van Nguyen. She was one of the 12th siblings in her family. As a child, Nga devoted a lot of her time to taking care of her younger brothers and sisters while her parents worked in the agricultural field. She was like a mother-figure to her younger siblings.
Nga was the mother of 4 children, Hien Nguyen & his wife and kids, Vien Nguyen & her daughter, Minh Nguyen, and Michelle Nguyen. Our mother had devoted her entire life to her children. She was a single mother and always had multiple occupations so she could support her kids. We remembered she used to work days and nights such that she could provide for her children and ensure that they could have gone to college and/or found a job and be successful in life. Although, she was never home much but all of us understood why our mother wasn’t home with us a lot of times, it was because she was busy making a living so she could pay for our food, utilities, and living space for her 4 kids and herself. She retired at the age of 62 and even in her retirement, she was still working by taking care of her grandkid until she got sick and couldn’t do it anymore. We appreciate everything that our mother had done for us up until the day that she passed away. She was a self-less, caring, and super mom who always put other people’s well-beings before herself.
Nga was a person who always enjoyed cooking, she loved to cook and packed food for everyone (her neighbors, co-workers, church members, and her kids). She also loved to go shopping and always got excited when she found good deals and because of this, she had collected a lot of items for her children so she could give these items to her kids when they have their first kid, buy their first home, and/or attend college.
Mom, we love you and all of us will continue to stay strong and support each other unconditionally like what you did to us while you were here. May you rest in peace now and you will always be number 1 in our hearts.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.olingerhighland.com for the Nguyen family.
