Nicholas Lee Schamp, born May 12,1986 to Richard (Rick) Schamp and Alicha Hartman in Denver Colorado. Nick was born with spina bifida, but he didn’t let that slow him down. He had multiple surgeries to help fix the issues associated with his spina bifida. Nick grew up in Thornton but moved to Oklahoma with his mom in the early 90’s. He moved back to Colorado in the mid 90’s and continued to do therapy for his birth defect.
As Nick grew older, he found the love for military planes and ships. He held a special place in his heart for those who served. He enjoyed everything that flew and was an avid racing fan. Nick also found a love for local sports teams especially the Colorado Avalanche, he always posted about them and was never shy when talking about them wherever he was. He worked at the Grizzly Rose for several years, where he earned his endearing nickname “Wheels”. He made many friends and touched so many lives in his short time with us and will forever be missed.
Nick was blessed with 2 beautiful children in April of 2015, twins Hailey and Kyle. Nick is survived by his beloved dog Henry; his parents, Rick (Kim) Schamp; his mother, Alicha Hartman; Grandparents, Richard and Patricia Schamp; Grandmother, Mary Grant; Sisters, Rikki Schamp and Alexyss Finzel (David); Brothers, Brandon Lindsey (Bailey) and Clayton Hartman (Savannah); Aunt Kelley Schamp (Gary); Uncles, Jimmy, Ricky and Chris Grant; and several nieces and nephews as well as extended family.
