Upon graduation from Boulder High School he joined the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the ammunition ship U.S.S. Chara 1950 to 1954 during the Korean conflict.
When he completed his Navy service he became a cement finisher with cement companies in Boulder.
In 1955 he met and married Carolee Waggoner from Longmont, Colorado. They bought their home in Thornton, Colorado where they lived and raised their family.
Philip follows the deaths of his parents, Dan and Jane; brothers Leroy (Verlain), Jack and sister Jean.
Philip is survived by his wife Carolee, sons Michael (Claudia), Mark (Pamela), Mathew (Peggy), Mitchell and daughter Marilee; nine grandchildren; two great grand-daughters; numerous nieces and nephews, friends and Navy buddies.
