Ralph "Red" Thiemann

away peacefully on May 20th, 2025 with family by his side. He was born to

parents Elmer and Frieda Thiemann on June 30th, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois.

Ralph met his future bride, and love of his life, Barbara Fairchild in high school.

They married on May 14th, 1954, and were married just short of 70 years!

Together they raised three (3 )children; Scott, Jeff and Linda. He is survived by

four (4) grand children and fourteen (14) great-grand children, and was preceded

in death by his sister and two (2) step-brothers.

After marriage, as a patriotic army veteran, he lived in Germany and then was

stationed at Fort Riley Kansas before moving to Lafayette, Colorado and then

settling in Northglenn, Colorado in 1963 where he worked and raised their

family.

Ralph was a charter member of Northglenn United Methodist Church, enjoyed

singing in the choir, helping plant gardens, counting offerings and served on the

finance committee. Ralph’s hobbies and passions were gardening, investing,

camping, traveling, grilling, playing board, domino and card games, and he

played an accordion since he was a child. He also loved playing and watching

sports, and was a faithful fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and the Colorado

Rockies.

Holding several jobs and gifted in using numbers, he started out reading meters,

did accounting and then was a computer programmer at Ball Brothers, The

Geological Society and Lowry Air Force Base until he retired and moved to

Sierra Vista, AZ. When care needs increased they moved back to Colorado to be

closer to family in 2017. He lived in a few retirement communities in Lakewood,

Northglenn and Thornton, and his final community was in south Lakewood.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Northglenn United Methodist Church

Saturday, June 28th at 11:00 am, followed by a lunch reception. Pastor Jeff

Wayland will officiate.
