

Richard (Dick) A. Doll, born October 27, 1932, died suddenly on October 26, 2012 after an unsuspected illness. He is survived by his wife Ruth of 57 years and three daughters Cindy Doll, Kellie (Anthony) Cordova, and Jackie Olsen. He also had three grandchildren, Jennifer Olsen, Kara (Chris) Ott and Tyler Doll and one great child, Caleb Ott. He was preceded by his parents, Lip and Jeanette Doll, Brother Eddie, Sister Kathy, and son-in-law Greg Olsen.
Dick joined the Air Force in 1951 and was with the 19th Bomb Group (B-29’s) stationed at Kadena AFB, Okinawa during the Korean War. He has Honorable discharged from the Air Force in1955. He married Ruth in March 1955 and lived in Mandan, ND, worked at Amoco Oil Refinery until June 1962. He then accepted a job with the Department of Defense (DOD) in Denver, CO as a Petroleum & Chemical Quality Assurance Rep. He spent a short period (1966) with NASA as a Space Systems QC Rep working on the Saturn V Program. He spent 2 years in Stuggart, Germany (85-87) and returned to Northglenn, CO to close out his career with a total of 34 years (Air Force & DOD).
After retirement in 1992, he and Ruth traveled to numerous locations around the Globe and took several cruises. He and Ruth moved to Tucson, AZ, for 13 years and then to Las Cruces, NM for 6 years. He continued to belong to the USAF 19th Bomb Group (B-29’s) having annual reunions in different locations each year. Dick and Ruth moved back to Thornton, CO in August 2012 to be close to the family during his senior years.
Dick enjoyed biking and was an avid sports fan. He was a lifetime member of the Westminster, CO Elks (Lodge 2227), lifetime member of the American Legion in Mandan, North Dakota, and had a lifetime membership with Ballys Fitness.
He was a loving and dedicated family man and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He will surely be missed by all.
Memorial Mass is Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Northglenn, Colorado. He will be forever in our hearts and in our minds. Arrangements Entrusted to Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, Thornton, Colorado.
