Richard E. Polson, age 85, of Thornton, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Richard was born July 18, 1933 in Denver, Colorado and graduated from St. Frances de Sales High School. He served in the United States Navy on a submarine during the Korean War. Richard was an electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Richard is survived by his sister, Barbara White, his children, Susan (Jack) Montoya, Shelley (Patrick) Munson, Sandra Davis and Joseph (Karen) Polson. He is survived by nine grandchildren, Thomas Polson, Daniel Polson, Kayla Polson, Michael Polson, Travis Montoya, Taylor Davis, Chase Munson, Shea (Jordan) Robertson and Zachary Munson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, LouAnn Polson, his son Thomas Polson, his parents Lee & Virgie Polson, his brothers, Donald, Charles and James.
A Celebration of Life for Richard will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Olinger Highland Mortuary Chapel, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229. Inurnment with military honors will be immediately following the service at Olinger Highland Cemetery.
The family will hold a reception following the inurnment at The Gayton Dance Studio, 2145 East 120th Avenue, Northglenn, Colorado.
Richard is dearly missed and loved. He will always be in our hearts and we will never forget his big heart and wonderful sense of humor.
