Bob was born in Denver, CO on September 8, 1954 to Robert and Mary McGraw. He grew up living on the baseball diamond while cultivating a great set of friends he had until his passing. Bob graduated from Northglenn High School in 1972 and moved to Gunnison to attend Western State College. On his way to achieving his Bachelor of Accounting in 1977, Bob met the love of his life Marjie McGraw (Burd) and they married August 14, 1976.
After graduation, the couple moved back to Denver and had two sons Robert (BJ) and Trevor while Bob worked towards becoming a CPA. He, along with his father, started McGraw & McGraw CPA in 1982. As the business grew, he was able to foster close relationships with his clients and he was able to welcome his family into the business with both sons, daughter in law and wife all working for the firm.
As an athlete and family man, Bob coached his sons to many league and tournament championships, won adult baseball titles himself, was the 2019 RMGA player of the year, had several holes in one and even several 300 games in bowling. Those that knew him understood that he was always willing to compete, but he was classy in victory and defeat.
He was incredibly active with his community and leaves behind an amazing set of friends with which he shared golf, wine, The Ranch Country Club, sports fanaticism, and overall friendship. He served on the boards at the Ranch Country Club, The Western State Foundation, Westminster Legacy Foundation and others. His kindness and care are well known as he would give you the shirt off his back and everyone was welcome to come by the house to share a drink and relax by the firepit.
Bob’s heart belonged to his loving wife of nearly 45 years along with his incredibly tight-knit family. Bob and Marjie would do everything they could to attend games, recitals and meets that his grandkids participated in. The family would take vacations together and even gather at his house every Sunday for family dinner so Bob and Marjie could spend quality time with their grandkids. It is nearly impossible to find a picture of Bob without a huge smile on his face and his arms wrapped around his wife, a grandchild, or a friend.
Bob leaves behind an amazing legacy and is survived by his loving wife Marjie, Son BJ McGraw and his wife Becky McGraw from Westminster, CO as well as son Trevor McGraw from Lakewood, CO.
He also leaves behind five grandkids Morgan (18), Taryn (18), Avery (16), Brett (16) and Jocelyn (14), sister Rosemary McGraw & Dave Steenwerth (Westminster, CO) and Brother Danny McGraw (Northglenn, CO) along with a niece Christa Steenwerth, nephews, cousins and friends from every step of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary McGraw.
