Robert Victor Hagman, Jr. was born March 23, 1947, in Sidney, Nebraska to Robert Victor (Vic) Hagman and Dorothy Lee (Paul) Hagman. He passed June 19, 2026, and spent his final days surrounded by his beloved family. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Nora (McKaig) Hagman, his sons Brian and Matthew Hagman, daughter Amanda (Hagman) Marshall, grandsons Jacob Marshall and Josh Marshall, granddaughter Madison Hagman, sisters Cindy (Hagman) Messier and Diane (Hagman) Sanborn (Bryan), brother Dan Hagman and many beloved nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, beloved in-laws, church family and coworkers.
Growing up, Bobby played marbles, was a cub scout, loved swimming, baseball, football and anything with wheels. He helped his dad build a go-cart and a small scooter he loved driving around. He was always a good worker and besides his house chores, he got a job delivering the Aurora Advocate weekly newspaper, which helped him get a Vespa. When the family moved from Aurora to Northglenn in 1961, he got a job delivering the daily Denver Post and in no time earned enough to purchase a Honda motorcycle. A MacDonald’s hamburger stand opened a couple blocks away, and he was one of their first employees. He worked there all through high school.
Bob went to elementary and junior high school in Aurora, Colorado, and graduated from Merritt Hutton HS in Thornton, CO in 1965. He went to Metropolitan State College and was in the first class to graduate there in 1969 with BS in Psychology. He paid for college working with his dad Vic painting houses and large buildings. After college, Bob continued working as a contract painter because it paid so well. He met his bride-to-be, Nora McKaig, at his best friend’s wedding when he stood as best man and Nora as maid-of-honor. They wed in 1970, bought their first home in Arvada and started their family. Bob also started his own paint contracting business, first named “Columbine Painting” and later renamed “Paint Today!”.
Bob loved the Colorado mountains and being outdoors, whether fishing, skiing or dirt biking in the foothills with his sons. In later years, he downgraded to a ten-speed he rode every day. He loved watching pro football and was a lifelong Broncos fan.
Bob was a Christian and member of Crossroads ABC Church in Northglenn and Thornton. He was a very behind-the-scenes servant for many years, volunteering countless hours with the Helping Hands ministry at Crossroads which helps widows, single moms and others needing assistance in repairing things around their homes and yards. He also volunteered extensively for Denver Youth for Christ by assisting with their annual fundraiser that provided gift bags, Bibles, treats and Christmas cards to youth spending the holidays incarcerated. He was also generous in helping his extended family in multiple ways. Bob was a giver, at times to a fault.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to his daughter on Venmo @birthblessingdoula or Go Fund Me https://www.gofundme.com/f/honoring-the-life-of-bob-hagman
