Ronald Richard Hunt, age 77, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025.
Born on June 7, 1948, in Brookings, South Dakota, Ron grew up in Denver, Colorado, and later attended the University of Colorado Boulder. In September 1968, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country with deployments to Japan in 1970 and Vietnam in 1971.
During his service in Vietnam, Ron was awarded several military honors in recognition of his dedication and performance under hazardous conditions. Notably, he received the Air Medal for meritorious achievement in aerial flight and the Army Commendation Medal for outstanding service—both awards reflecting his courage and commitment in combat operations. He also received the Vietnam Gallantry Cross, issued by the Republic of Vietnam, acknowledging acts of valor during the conflict.
Ron spent more than three decades as an engineer at IBM, where he was known for his dedication and technical expertise. He made his home in Morrison, Colorado, where he lived for 44 years and built a life surrounded by family, friends, and community.
He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Joanne Hunt, and his younger brother, Ricky Hunt.
Ron will always be remembered as a loving and generous son, brother, and uncle. His kindness, strength, and quiet wisdom left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He is survived by his brother, Steven Hunt (Catherine), and his sisters, Susan Garcia (James) and Donna Wilson (Gary). He also leaves behind a cherished legacy in his nieces, nephews, and great-nephews: Marlo, Rachel, Carrol, Sarah, Eugene, Gary, Ethan, Evan, and Ean.
Final interment will take place at Mt. Lindo Cemetery in Morrison, Colorado.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
