Russ Stolte (son of Les and Carolyn Stolte; both deceased), beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away and went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Russ lived his life centered around his faith, his family, and his friends. To know Russ was to know how deeply he loved the people in his life and how much pride and joy they brought him.
Russ is survived by his wife, Pam; his children, Kristin (Bobby), Cooper (Jodi), and Danny; and his grandchildren, Mac, Emerson, and Beckham, who were truly the passion of his life. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon (Tommy) and twin sister Susie (Jim); sisters-in-law Kelly and Lexi; mother-in-law Susan; stepmother-in-law Maggie; nieces and nephews Sam, Molly, Hanna, Josh, Danielle, and Ashlynn; his pups, Hunter and Henry; and so many other people in his life.
Russ loved his family dearly and took tremendous pride in each one of them. His grandchildren held a particularly special place in his heart, and some of his happiest moments were those spent simply being with the people he loved most.
Russ had many passions. He loved scuba diving, gardening, tinkering in the yard, and, most of all, spending time with his family. He definitely had a green thumb and took great pride in his yard and the things he could grow. He was always fixing, building, planting, or finding something to work on.
Russ was stubborn—really stubborn—and, while we loved him for it, there were certainly times when that stubbornness drove us a little crazy. He was also quite the prankster. There were more than a few glasses of cold water thrown into the shower over the years, and those memories will bring smiles and laughter for a very long time.
Russ also loved a good party. He loved having people around, bringing family and friends together, and making sure everyone was having a good time. He created countless memories that will be treasured forever.
But perhaps what defined Russ most was his strength. He had a never-ending strength and an incredible determination to keep going. He fought for every moment he was given in this lifetime. Through every challenge, he continued to fight with courage, faith, and an unwavering spirit. He never gave up easily, and his strength was an inspiration to everyone who loved him.
Russ will be missed beyond measure. There are simply no words big enough to describe the hole his passing leaves in the lives of those who loved him. His laughter, his stubbornness, his pranks, his strength, and his enormous love for his family will live on in all of us. We will carry him in our hearts, and we will continue to tell his stories, laugh at his antics, and remember the incredible man he was.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 10, at 11:30 a.m. at Summit of Peace Lutheran Church, located at 4661 E. 136th Ave., Thornton, CO 80602.
A Celebration of Life will follow the service at Gather, located at 301 S. Main St., Brighton, CO 80601.
The family sincerely appreciates the prayers, support, and kindness shown during this difficult time.
