Samantha Rose Sanchez

Samantha Rose Sanchez (Sitting With Owls) passed away in her home in Westminster on May 29th, 2021. Samantha was born on January 8, 1992 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Glendora Sanchez of Denver, Colorado and Gabriel Sanchez of Houston, Texas. Samantha was raised in North Dakota and graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 2010, and attended Minot State University and then Front Range Community College, when she relocated to Colorado in 2011. Samantha made her home in Colorado for much of her adult life, and she had a passion for working with individuals with disabilities. She was a residential coordinator for North Metro Community Services, where she will be dearly missed. Sam was a driven and kind individual who always seemed to have endless love and support to give. Samantha loved music and attending live shows, she enjoyed exploring the outdoors by hiking, camping, and all of Colorado’s natural beauty. Samantha held her Native American culture close, and her culture and ties to her Tribe were strong. The people of her community grieve this devastating loss. Samantha appreciated small moments that brought others joy and was able to make a small or seemingly insignificant moment special. Sam was loving and accepting of all and was always able to find the best in people. She had an unforgettable sense of humor, and her laughter still fills our hearts. Sam always had a funny story to share and funny memories to reminisce about. Sam loved her family, and she spent much of her free time with her family and friends making new memories. Samantha is survived by her twin sister Pamela Sanchez of Fort Collins, CO, her mother Glendora Sanchez of Grand Forks, ND, and father Gabriel Sanchez of Canton, OH, her sister Cynthia Sanchez of Grand Forks ND, her brother Jessey Sanchez of Colorado Springs, CO, Nicholas Sanchez of Fredericksburg, VA, Adrian Sanchez of Fredericksburg, VA, and Lara Sanchez of Manassas, VA, her grandparents Betty Fox-Murphy and John Murphy of Firestone, CO, her auntie Sheila Stahlecker (Elijah) of Thornton, CO, her nephew Jack and niece Avery, her cousins Julius, Leilah and Aviana. She is also survived by her partner, as well as countless friends and family who loved Samantha deeply. Sam has left countless friends, colleagues, community members, and family members who remember her fondly as a beautiful person who was quick to laugh and love. Services will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary and Cemetery on June 9th at 11:00am. Please make donations to Sam's Go Fund Me to support the family through this devastating loss.
