Sandra Marie Tillson

Sandra Marie Tillson was born in Soldier, Iowa on May 15, 1944, to LeRoy and Lena Swain. She was married to Terry Tillson for 28 years and had 3 daughters. She received two bachelor's degrees from Morningside College with a liberal arts degree and from Buena Vista College with a human service degree. Sandy worked at the Mental Health Center of Denver for 28 years. She gave a lot to that community and will be greatly missed.

Sandy is survived by her three daughters Tanya (Henry) Alale of Denver CO, Tracy Tillson of Lochbuie, CO and Tami Welborn of Lochbuie, CO. Her grandchildren Ladi Alale, Lolade Alale, Aiden Welborn, Landen Welborn and Chanel Pinkard-Tillson. Her great-grandchildren A'Leia Milan Alale Reyes, OluRemi Pinkard-Dawson and Na'Rai Williams. Her sisters Nancy Swain of Omaha, NE and Kathy (Dennis) Kennedy of Council Bluffs, IA along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Lena Swain, brothers Larry, Terry and Richard Swain, sister Kay Harfst and brother-in-law Ken Harfst. Nephew Kent Harfst and grandson Malik Tillson.

Sandy loved deeply and unconditionally. She loved all sports. She was a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan, especially the Iowa Women's basketball. When her children were young you could always find her at their activities, whether it was track, orchestra or band. In her later years she was always rooting for her grandchildren on the sideline or in spirit. She always made sure her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were loved and cared for.

Sandra's memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 10am at Crossroads Community Center, 10451 Huron St., Northglenn CO, 80234.
