

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah Jane "Sada" Maestas, who left us on February 11, 2025, at the age of 64. Sarah was born on August 12, 1960, in Denver, Colorado, to the late Luis Albert Montoya and Olivia Rose Montoya. She lived a full and vibrant life, bringing love, joy, and laughter to all who knew her.
Sarah graduated from Ranum High School in 1978 and went on to earn an Associate Degree from Metropolitan State College. She began her professional career at US West, formerly known as Mountain Bell, before retiring as a Facility Manager from Chase Bank/CBRE. Throughout her career, Sarah’s dedication, expertise, and warm spirit made her a valued colleague and friend.
On September 1, 1979, Sarah married the love of her life, Robert Maestas, with whom she shared a beautiful life and two wonderful sons, David and Michael Maestas. Her family was her greatest joy, and she was a proud mother, sister, and aunt. She was also deeply devoted to her beloved puppy, Scruffy, and her cherished animals, including Oso, Peaches, Pepsi, Pesty, Mischief, Luke, and Vader.
Sarah had a variety of passions that filled her life with creativity and joy. She loved quilting, cross-stitching, sewing, and crocheting, often gifting her handmade creations to family and friends. A huge fan of Nascar racing, she also enjoyed camping with family, attending musicals, movies, and country concerts, where her love for music and performance shone brightly.
Sarah is survived by her loving husband Robert Maestas, her sons David and Michael Maestas, and her extended family, including her siblings Sheila (Roger), Sabrina, and Adrianne Montoya, as well as her in-laws Lawrence (Francis), Joseph (Anna), Joe, Dennis (Caryl), Ted (Manuel Mercado), Angelica, Louis, Greg (Anna), Jackie, and Martha Maestas. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, including Ronald (Deanna), Bradley (Maria), Alexis, Roman (Daunine), Justin (Jayme), Brooke, Joseph, Mercedes, Jenesee, Luis Albert II, Aunt Rita and numerous extended family members and friends who will forever miss her presence.Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents Ephriam and Salome Medina, and several beloved animals.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sarah's honor to an animal rescue organization close to her heart.
Sarah’s love, warmth, and generous spirit will live on in the memories of all those who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to call her a friend and loved one. May she rest in peace.
A Memorial Service for Sarah will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 1:30 at the Northglenn Recreation Center, 1 E. Memorial Parkway, Northglenn, CO 80233 – Community Rooms 1 & 2
