Scott was born in Garden City, Michigan on June 12, 1963 to Sharon Carroll and William Mackay. He is survived by his loving wife Jolene of almost 23 years, son Cameron Cordova, daughter Demi Laughlin, brother Steven Mackay and wife Deirdre and his young nephews Aiden and Ryan, His uncle Danny Sackett and wife Sheila, and cousins Sarah and Samantha.
Scott lived in Michigan up until he was a teenager, and then moved to Colorado in 1979 and attended Northglenn High School. He spent some time in Arkansas visiting his grandparents during the summertime when he was young.
Scott worked for United Airlines most of his career as a mechanic and ground crew and retired late 2019. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He made great friends there. He also loved traveling. He traveled every chance he got. He enjoyed going to see live shows at different venues. His passion was music. He loved spinning his records and showing off his nice stereo and turntable to his friends. They liked to have their “jam sessions”. They would take turns playing their choice of songs. He liked that a lot. He had a whole lifetime of music knowledge. Ever since he was a little boy he was listening and collecting music. You could ask him anything about Classic Rock bands and most the time he'd know the answer. I think that's from a lifetime of reading the liner notes on each album. He attended many, many live shows of his favorite bands with his good friends, and he has the ticket stubs to prove it. He valued those times with his friends. His favorite venue was Red Rocks Amphitheater. He had many stories of good times there.
He also liked sports. Michigan and Colorado sports teams were his thing. If he wasn't listening to music, he was watching sports or talking to his friends about the latest sporting event. And, If you knew him well, you know he always had an opinion, and something witty to say about politics. He was funny and had a great sense of humor, a big smile and a hardy laugh.
Scott truly valued his family and friendships. He was a very sentimental person who cherished special moments dear to his heart. Saving little trinkets and photos to remember. He had a loving family, good friendships, and wonderful experiences. Scott sure did have a beautiful mind and soul! We will miss him dearly.
