Sharon was born on September 12th, 1951, in Fremont, Nebraska, the fourth of six children of Edward and Alma (Hronek) Heywood.
In 1968 Sharon met Gale Stroh. They began dating after Gale’s military service and were married on July 28th, 1973, going on to have two children, Mark in 1976 and Carl in 1980.
Sharon was a stay-at-home mother for 8 years before returning to the workforce and working in the field of accounts payable and receivable. In addition to working full time, Sharon was the glue that held the household together, making sure that everything got done, shuttling the boys to baseball and basketball practices and games and Cub Scout events. She did it all.
Sharon was always a calm voice and a considerate, attentive listener. She always seemed to find a way to help when it was needed, whether it was helping a friend with an at-home perm kit, spending time and helping care for family members in need, or driving across half of the country with her husband to help her son and his fiancée Melody move to California. She loved birds and often spent time on camping trips looking for as many different species as she could find. We will miss Sharon terribly and miss all that she was to us.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Alma Heywood, and her son Carl Stroh. She is survived by her husband Gale Stroh, siblings Annette Qualls, Nancy Lovelady, Pat Nolan, Rita Grimm, and Tom Heywood, her son Mark Stroh, daughter in law Melody Potvin, and her granddaughter (who was the glimmer in her eye and always put the biggest smile on her face), Sydney Stroh.
