Sheryl was born on May 4, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her parents’ careers in hospitality kept the family on the move, and she grew up in places including Texas and California. As an adult, she settled in Colorado. She built her career as a product manager at Mountain Bell, which eventually became Qwest. She loved crafting and treasured her time with family and friends.
Her twin sister, Sharyn Reffel, was her lifelong partner in everything and her best friend. The two shared a bond few people ever know. Sharyn passed away in 2024, and Sheryl carried her close every day after.

She is survived by her only daughter, Shelbee (Stephen) Eigenbrode; her sister, Lynda (Mark) Goldberg, of Arizona; her niece, Wendee (Rob) Kaiser, and nephew, Mark (Jodi) Reffel; and her grandchildren, Emily, Ali, Rachel, Kaylee, Carson, and Greyson, whom she loved with all her heart.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery – Highland, 10201 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado. Family and friends are invited to a reception at the family’s home immediately following the service.
