Steve Kraus

Steven Allen Kraus, 70, passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 15, 2026. He was born on August 12, 1956, in Bayard, Nebraska, to Helen and Reuben Kraus. Steven had been a resident of Colorado since the 1960s and made Colorado his home for most of his life.

On July 10, 1976, Steven married Vicky (Bleyle) Kraus. Together, they built a family and shared 50 years of marriage. Steven and Vicky were blessed with three children: Matthew Kraus, Wendy (Kraus) Roberts, and Katie (Kraus) Brown.

Steven was a proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Vicky; his children, Matthew and his wife Tina; Wendy and her husband, Keegan Roberts; and Katie and her husband, Ryan Brown; and his seven grandchildren, Jacey Ovalle, Jose Ovalle, Jacey Kraus, Aurelia Kraus, Elijah Kraus, Jolie Roberts, Kenna Jane Brown; and one great-grandchild, Sophia Echevarria.

Steven was also part of a loving family that included his siblings, Don Kraus (deceased), Bill Kraus, Linda Kelsey, and Nancy Hartleben.

Steven’s greatest legacy is the family he loved and the memories he leaves with those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, siblings, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
