Susie Griego, Age 86 of Aurora Colorado passed away Thursday November 24th, 2022 at St.Joseph Hospital in Denver Colorado. She was born on June 2, 1936 in Maxwell, New Mexico to her parents Eligio Espinosa (Father) and Leonires Espinosa (Mother).
Susie was preceded in death by her parents Eligio and Leonires Espinosa, 2 sisters Stella Trujillo and Angie Duran, both from Albuquerque New Mexico, 1 brother John Espinosa from La Puente, California and her Husband, David Griego of Denver, Colorado and her daughter Louise Burton from Denver, Colorado.
She survived by her sister Annie Trujillo of Raton, NM. Husband Jose Archondo of Aurora, Colorado and her children Joey Ortiz, Betty Garcia (Ron), Lucille Belzer, Theresa Camacho, James Ortiz, David Griego (Stephanie) and Ruby Cabral (Glen) all from the Denver area. She has 19 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 2 more great grandchildren on the way.
She shared her life with her husband Jose for 38 years. Together they enjoyed traveling to other countries such as Italy, Spain, Puerta Vallarta and Florida. Together they welcomed family and friends in their home, they hosted celebrations for Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas night or even just for a visit. Together they shared enjoyment of their family pets (Sombra 1 and 2) both brought much pleasure into their lives.
Susie worked at different hospitals. 1st, Mercy Hospital until closing in 1995. 2nd she worked at the Convention Center in Denver and from there she went to work at Littleton Adventist Hospital until she retired in 2005.
Her hobbies and interests included gardening, she spent many hours tending to all of the flowers which were displayed on the outdoor deck and all around the yard of their beautiful home. She also loved arts and crafts, making hats out of ribbons, Christmas wreaths, those are just a few examples.
Susie loved the Christmas season, it was her favorite time of the year. A beautiful Christmas tree was decorated every year and filled with so many decorations. Together, Jose and Susie put many displays in their yard. Lighted deer, red ribbons with bells, simply beautiful. At this time of year the family would get together for a meal, opening presents. She loved going to the Parade of Lights and to the Denver Zoo to see all of the lights.
Susie loved going shopping at her favorite stores. She would see something and would buy it for whoever she had in mind. She was a giver. We all were very blessed to have her in our lives! Oh! She would say "Its on sale".
