Toshio “Peanuts” Takata, of Westminster, CO, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 peacefully in his home. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, dad, papa and friend to all that knew and loved him. He was born on April 9, 1927 in Lomita, CA to Kizo and Hatsumi Takata.
Tosh spent his early teens in French Camp, CA. His mid-teens were spent at the Gila River Internment Camp in Arizona from 1942 – 1945. In 1946, he joined the U.S. Army before his honorable discharge in 1947. He received the Army of Occupation Medal for his service in Korea.
Tosh is survived by Viola (Wife), Terri (Daughter), Darin (Son-In-law), Evan and Chase (Grandsons), Kazu and Suzie (Sisters), Sayoko and Ruby (Sister-In-laws), Satoru (Brother-In-Law), in addition to nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by beloved family and close friends.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 o’clock on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Olinger Highland Mortuary Honor East Room with a reception to follow.
