Victorina Soza Bauernfeind

Victorina “Vicky” Soza Bauernfeind passed away peacefully on April 15, 2022 at the age of 84 in her home in Thornton, Colorado with her family by her side. She was born to the late Jose and Maria de Jesus Soza on March 23, 1938 in Presidio, Texas.

Family always came first for Vicky. From attending events such as concerts, athletics, and pageants; to witnessing major milestones such as graduations, weddings, and births; to hosting backyard barbeques and holiday gatherings; both she and her late husband, Wolfgang, centered their lives around nurturing their children and grandchildren. Vicky also enjoyed tending to her flower beds, frequenting casinos, cheering on the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys, road-tripping to El Paso to visit family, and camping in the scenic Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She was a true pillar of strength for her family and a beautiful blend of independence, compassion, and feistiness.

Vicky is survived by her doting children Louie “Gordo” (Josie) Trujillo of El Paso, TX; Krista (Jimmy) Gonzales of Thornton, CO; Brenda (Augi) Chavez of Highlands Ranch, CO; Jessica (Randy) Montour of Thornton, CO; cherished grandchildren Loriana (Tim), Andre, Adam, Vianney, Lanneya, Pepper, Daniella (Tom), Danica, Dylan, Demitri (Tatiana), Izzy, Dominic; precious great-grandchildren Kiana, Serina, Mathilde, Simon, Apollo; siblings Natalia, Carlos, Evangelina “Vangie”; son-in-law, Cid Aba, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband Wolfgang, Vicky was preceded in death by daughter Loraine Aba; siblings Ernestina, Jose Jr., Valentina, Jesus Manuel, Francisco; and first husband Jose Luis Trujillo.

Services will take place on Friday, May 6th at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 11385 Grant Dr, Northglenn, CO 80233 and will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person (link provided below):

• 9:30 am – Visitation

• 10:30 am – Rosary

• 11:00 am – Mass

• 12:00 pm – Mariachi Procession and Dove Release

Reception to follow at American Legion Post 22, 11081 Irma Dr, Northglenn, CO 80233.

Vicky will be cremated and laid to rest with her beloved husband, Wolfgang, in El Paso, TX on February 9, 2023 (what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary) at Evergreen East Cemetery at 12400 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX 79938.
