Obituary of Vivian Juanita Easter
Vivian Juanita (Simmons) Easter was born April 13, 1926, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the third of three children born to Charles Edward Simmons Sr. and Bessie Elizabeth (Shores) Simmons. Charles Sr. subsequently married Irene and moved the family to Denver in 1937. Vivian completed her education in Denver, graduating from Manual High School in 1944. She married William H. Easter II in October 1947 and this marriage produced one son, William (Bill) H. Easter III. Vivian joined the Air Force Finance Accounting Center as a civilian employee in 1954, becoming a data operations supervisor within the legal group. She retired after 35 years of distinguished service. Being 5’10” and a clothes lover, she also worked part-time for several years after retirement at Tall Etc., a clothing store for tall women. Vivian joined Peoples Presbyterian Church in 1962. As a faithful member, she served as an Usher, Secretary of the Usher Board and Church Financial Secretary. She was also an active member of the Feed the Hungry Program which prepared and served hot meals weekly at the Church. In addition to her work and church life, Vivian loved to read fiction and travel. She was especially fond of cruises, traveling multiple times throughout the Caribbean. Vivian also traveled to Europe including the UK, France and Sweden. Vivian departed this life on July 31, 2022, at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her siblings Charles and Courtney. Her memory will be cherished by her son, Bill (Barbara), their children, Damon (Tanya) and Alan (Kristin), her great granddaughter, Kelly, Nieces, Karen and Carole and nephews, Charles, and James as well as great nieces and nephews, Courtney, Austin, Charles, and Christopher. She is also cherished by her long-time friends, Mattie Boldridge, Vince, Don, Allison, and Joanne. We offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to the caregivers at Brookdale Lowry and Meadow Hills assisted living facilities and Denver Hospice for the love and care they showed Vivian during her golden years.
