Wayne A. Sawyer, 72, of Thornton, Colorado passed away at home on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Wayne "Wilbur" was born on September 11, 1948 in Denver, Colorado to William and Lillian (Stallings) Sawyer.
Wayne wed his childhood sweetheart Beverly (Donald) in August 1966 and shortly thereafter they moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where Wayne served in the US Navy. Later, Wayne would become a master builder and cabinet maker and he and Beverly started their own business - B&W Furniture Mfg - which they owned and operated for over 30 years. Wayne was an outdoor enthusiast and lover of the Rocky Mountains, an avid golfer, a wicked poker player, had a green-thumb for growing vegetables, and enjoyed painting landscapes and wild life.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife Beverly; sister Louise Gray; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents William and Lillian Sawyer; and brother Ronald Sawyer.
A funeral service for Wayne will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229, with a graveside service and reception to follow.
