Life Profile Wendy Lynne Storey

Born: Bountiful, Utah, December 30, 1966 Spouse: Jeff W Storey Children: Silver Jo Storey Parents: Robert E and Jo Ann Hastie Siblings: Ron Hastie (Robin), Wes Hastie, Shane Hastie

Wendy and Jeff were married at Grande Estates, a beautifully restored Victorian mansion in Ogden Utah. It was the Victorian style that made it special for them. When Jeff enlisted in the US Navy, Wendy became a Navy Wife and worked with the Wives Support Group, which is populated and run by the wives of the sailors who are deployed. They banded together to assist and support each other while their men were gone.

Wendy and Jeff had one child, Silver. Wendy chose to be a stay-at-home mom and spent her time caring for Silver and loving her and her home and her pets. Wendy was a cat-lady and there was always at least one cat in the home.

Eventually, when Silver didn't need so much care, Wendy started working for King Soopers. There, she was quickly promoted to management because of her integrity and work ethic. Not to mention her caring nature. She eventually had to leave their employment, but she didn't leave the friends she made there.

Wendy and Jeff had a renewal of vows for their 10th anniversary, in Virginia City, NV. It became a tradition to renew vows every 10 years, thereafter. For the 20th it was vow renewal at Redstone Inn in Redstone, CO. Last year, their 30th, was a cruise to Hawaii.

Wendy is the only daughter of Jo Ann Hastie. Adopted by Robert E Hastie, her stepfather. She grew up in rural Morgan, Utah with her brothers and childhood friends Stacey Taylor and Lynette Weeks. She hated the outdoors, but lived with a family that loved the outdoors and camping. Robert was known to get a camper trailer so that Wendy and Stacey could join them on camping trips.

Jeff also grew up in Morgan, but he and Wendy did not meet until after she had moved out of Morgan.

Wendy's family is now spread through Utah, Colorado, Idaho, and Nevada. She was often away visiting. She kept a constant cadence of keeping up with family and helping any family member in any way she could.

There will be a remembrance of Wendy on Wednesday April 24 from 4 - 6 pm. We'll have pictures, music, family, and friends. No guided service. Bring your memories and pictures and let's talk about Wendy and what she meant to us.

Wendy was the mom of Silver, my daughter's best friend of many years. I always remember Wendy taking such good care of my daughter, just like she was her own cub. There's a memory that is wayy too long to go into here, yet it is one that give me a big smile - Wendy was being Mama Bear for her own kiddo....and Jeff was right there by Wendy's side, as her constant support and partner.
We lived just down the hill from she Jeff, and Silver in Castle Rock and I several times called on Wendy for her help. She was always there with down-to-earth, and such passionate advice. I can hear her voice, her laugh. Her distinctive Wendy laugh and smile.
Be well sweetie.

I knew Wendy through Silver who was our daughter Rebecca's best friend through elementary and middle school. I always enjoyed talking with her and it was extra special running into her while grocery shopping. My heart breaks for Silver and we will always be there for her. Thoughts and prayers go out to Wendy's family.

I remember all of us kids dancing to Credence Clearwater Revival many times while babysitting you... tubing down the creek and just being kids in a small town! You will be missed!
