

Alvina Bosch Charlton, 91, formerly of Longview, Washington, passed away on May 19, 2025, in Beaverton, Oregon. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held July 1, 2025, 11:00am, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Beaverton. It is to be preceded by the Rosary at 10:30am, and followed by a reception in the St. Cecilia Parish Hall.
Alvina was born on October 15, 1933, in Linton, North Dakota to the late Joseph Jacob and Barbara Wingerter Bosch. Her family moved when she was three to Spokane, Washington where she was raised. She attended Marycliff High School and then worked for Bell Telephone as an operator in both Washington and California.
In 1954 she married James Nicholas Charlton, and they had five children. She lived in Washington, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Alabama before returning to Washington in her later years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Richard Charlton, and her siblings, Michael Alex Bosch, Mary Irene Koski, and Sally Ann Patterson.
Survivors include her children, Susan Marie (Dale) Anderson of Longview, WA, Edward James Charlton of Beaverton, OR, Keith Andrew (Peggy) Charlton of Dothan, AL, Daniel Joseph Charlton of Vancouver, WA, as well as nine grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
