

Ascension Culbertson, known by family and friends a “Cisco”, was born to parents Manuel Reyes and Antonia Quesada in Navajo, New Mexico on May 29, 1924. As child Ascension and her family, which consisted of eight brothers and sisters, moved to Winslow, Arizona. In Winslow, she attended school and earned honor of being her high school class valedictorian. Soon after graduating from high school, she began working at the local Western Union. She then went on to work as the civilian personnel administrator at the Air Force base in Winslow. It was there that she met and fell in love with her husband, Samuel J. Culbertson. Cisco and Sammy eventually moved to California where she worked at the US Marine supply depot in Barstow, California and later at the Norton Air Force Base in San Bernadino, California. They then settled in Hermosa Beach where she raised her ten children, and also cared for her grandchildren. While living in Hermosa Beach she worked at Los Angeles International Airport for fifteen years as a ticket agent. In 1985 Cisco and Sammy retired and moved to Beaverton, Oregon. During these later years she became an avid reader and could always be found with a book in her hand. She also enjoyed garage sales, watching Antique Road Show on television, and adding to her trove of collectibles.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, husband Sammy Joseph Culbertson, and daughters Robin Jeglinski and Carol Saxton.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: Daughters; Sami—Jo Scott (Husband Bruce), Sharon Robertson, Teri Wallace (Husband Rick).
Sons: Gary Culbertson (wige Maxine), Steven Culbertson, Keith Culbertson (wife Donna), Joseph Culbertson, George Culbertson.
Grand Children include; Lyndsay Wagner (Husband Luke), Brandon Culbertson, Star Siebel (Husband Chris), Dustie Soliz, Flame Soliz (Wife Becky), Louie Robertson, Dustin Jeglinski, Barret Jeglinski, Jessica Wilson (Husband Joey), Sammy Culbertson, Anita Saxton, Augustine Gaffney (wife Dove), Richard Greco, Bradley Blunt and Jeffery Scott.
