Barbara Anne Lorenzini Moore left this world too soon, surrounded by her family on August 8, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mike Moore, their daughters Lacey and Allyson, and stepdaughter Meredith.
Born on the Ross Island bridge on July 26, 1953, to the handsome couple; Roger and Lois Lorenzini. Barbara was the youngest of four daughters and was raised in a close Italian family. She adored spending time with her sisters, numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
She was active in her high school groups, keeping in touch with childhood friends and attending reunions throughout the years. Barbara treated her friends like family and considered them as such. She never hesitated to help someone in need, dropping off meals, babysitting, taking to and attending appointments. If there was an act of service needed, she happily fulfilled it. Her loyalty knew no bounds.
Not only beautiful, but also the life of the party with the most infectious laugh. Often Dancing on tables, in the living room, or around the kitchen to Barry White, Earth Wind & Fire, or Marvin Gaye, to name a few. She caught the attention of Mike Moore at Dan and Louis’ Oyster Bar, and A brief introduction through friends led to a lifetime together. Barbara journeyed alongside Mike down the fresh tracks of Tahoe, Sun Valley, and Mt. Hood Meadows, through the rapids of the Rogue River, to Mexico and Hawaii, and to Barbara’s favorite: the Oregon coast. This only continued when they welcomed Lacey and Ally into the world.
An incredibly devoted and loving mom, Barbara led Girl Scout troops, chaperoned field trips, and cheered on the sidelines at all of the sports played. She loved her daughters fiercely, sharing the ultimate of bonds, talking every day, and spending any free time together. Family was everything to her. Her warm and welcoming nature made her the “second mom” to many friends. Always offering an open door, a safe space, and a full belly. Many have said she was “The hostess with the mostest.” A natural and incredible cook, she effortlessly whipped up dishes and rarely followed recipes. If she cooked for you, she loved you. (Or called you “Honneyy!”)
In her most recent phase of life, “Nonna” loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren: Cash, Knox, and Scottie. You could find her coloring with them, playing board games, painting nails, snuggling, and giving bottles, all the while singing her memorable “Nonna Nursery Rhymes.” Constantly offering to pick up the kids, sleepovers at Nonna and Papa’s were a favorite amongst them all. She deeply cherished being a grandmother.
Barbara was an effortlessly beautiful force of nature with style and class that was evident in anything she had her hand in. Unapologetically herself in every way, she despised routine, craved adventure, and lived by her own rules. The absence in her family is inconceivable. While she will be missed beyond measure, her warm, quick-witted, feisty, affectionate, and loving spirit will live on forever through memories and the many lives she touched.
