Benjamin Neil Cardin

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin Neil Cardin a beloved son, brother, and uncle. Ben was born July 16, 1974 in Medford Oregon. He passed away on January 28, 2022 at the age of 47 from congestive heart failure. He was survived by his mother Janet Hamilton, his sister Emily Smith and her husband Christian Smith, nephew Taylor Smith, niece Kylee Smith, and nephew Cooper Smith. His girlfriend Melinda Hathaway. He was also survived by his uncles and aunts, Larry and Nancy Hills, Rick and Vickie Hamilton, and Bruce and Alicia Cardin as well as many cousins. Ben was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt Mike and Sandee Hamilton and his grandmother Betty Ann Hamilton.

Ben grew up in Monmouth/Independence Oregon. He graduated from Central High School. After high school Ben spent many years living in Alaska before returning to Oregon to live closer to family and watch his nephews and niece grow up. Ben worked at Ichor Systems in Tualatin for many years, and he was an avid OSU Beavers fan.

The family is choosing to honor Ben’s wishes to not have a funeral, but we are asking that you take a moment to honor Ben by sharing any memories you have with him below.
