

Betty Lois Brown was born on June 1, 1934, to Bill and Vi Gilmore, during a dust storm in Brainerd, Minnesota. A few years later the family relocated to Portland, OR where she and her younger sister grew up. Betty attended Willamette University for one year. It was during that time she met her future husband Phil Brown.
Betty and Phil were married in 1955 and welcomed daughter Keri Jeanne in 1956. Two years later they welcomed their second daughter Julie Ann in 1958. The family lived in Salem Oregon until 1972. They then relocated to Beaverton Oregon which is where Betty lived out her life.
Betty work as a legal secretary for Judge Otto Skopil for 20 years. During her life time she made a lot of close life long friends. Betty loved to travel the world with her friends and experience new cultures. Some of her travels took her to Turkey, China, Australia, Europe and most of North America. Betty loved telling her grandchildren all about her travels though out the world.
Some of Betty's other passions where playing in her weekly bridge club and taking her daughters to musicals. Betty was a fashionista until the very end; she always looked like an elegant lady. The best way to make Betty's day was to give her a piece of dark chocolate. This would bring the biggest smile to her face. She will always be known for her love of chocolate to time point she would sometimes eat desert before dinner. Her great grandson Kamron say she is now eating all the chocolate she can in heaven.
Betty died from Alzheimer disease peacefully in her sleep on Oct 20th 2017. Betty is survived by her two daughters Keri and Julie, her son in law Raymond Gellings. She is also survived by her three grandchildren and three great grandchildren Nick, Shelley, Kortnay, Kamron, Brynley, and Brooks.
