Beverly Jean Miller

Longtime Lake Oswego, Oregon resident of 48 years, Beverly J. Miller passed away on December 26, 2011. Beverly was born August 9, 1930 in Los Angeles, California to Robert William and May Belle Gardner. She grew up in the Los Angeles area and served as Vice President at her high school. Beverly met John C. Miller in Los Angeles while working at Consolidated Freightways. Bev and John enjoyed a nearly 50 year marriage of love, companionship and travel. During their years together, they resided in a number of different states in the Midwest including Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. They moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon in 1965 where they raised their five children. Beverly was known and loved as Bev, mom, mother, grandma, great grandmother, aunt, friend and sister. Bev was a creative floral designer and a co –founder of BJ Designs, Cheri’s Wreaths and Miller Insurance Agency. Bev was also a devoted member of the LDS Church, Lakeridge Ward. Bev had a strong sense of family, enjoyed people and laughter, and always found joy in life.

She was preceded in death by husband, John C. Miller in 2001 and oldest son, Michael J. Miller in 1999. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Barry Gehring, Seattle, Washington; daughter and son-in-law Dee Dee and Jim Turner, Snohomish, Washington; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Kent Howarth, Beaverton, Oregon; son Bob Miller, Portland, Oregon; grand children John, Paul and Anthony Miller; Corinne, Stephanie, Theresa and Michael Turner; Ashley and Tyler Howarth; Michelle and Bianca Miller; and 3 great grand children.

Your support, kindness and condolences have meant so much to us. We will celebrate mom’s life, and all that she meant to us at the funeral service scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday, January 9th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lakeridge Ward (1271 SW Overlook Dr., Lake Oswego, OR, 97034). A committal service will take place at 1:30 PM at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, where she will be laid to rest with her husband John.
