

Bruce was born to Albert and Olga (Miller) Hollister, the 10th of 11 siblings, in Spokane Washington. He graduated from Central Valley High School in 1945. Several years later he received an electrical engineering degree.
He married Carolyn Rizzi in 1958. Together they raised 2 daughters. Bruce worked for Tektronix from 1959 – 1986 in the Custom Modular Department. He was a long-time member of Toastmasters, eventually teaching a class to the 7th and 8th grade students at St. Anthony Catholic School for many years. After his retirement from Tektronix, he spent 28 years refurbishing and maintaining the St. Anthony Cemetery.
He volunteered his time teaching senior driving classes for AARP. He was also a regular blood donor, ultimately donating over 20 gallons in his lifetime. He was an avid runner and participated in many races including the Portland Marathon and Hood-to-Coast.
He served on the St. Anthony School and Parish finance councils. His passions were gardening and photography. He turned his love of photography into a business photographing weddings, first communions, and confirmations.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Carolyn. He is survived by his daughters Kirsten (Paul) Keller and Kelli (Steven Bowerman) Hollister; four grandchildren Brittney, Aaron, Chad and Gillian and three great grandsons; two brothers Buel and Terry Hollister and one sister Vesta Ruchek.
The recitation of the rosary will be at 10:00 am Monday November 21, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigard Oregon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:15pm. Interment will be at St. Anthony Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruce and Carolyn Hollister Scholarship Fund at St. Anthony School.
