

Carolyn Mary O'Donnell passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2013. She was born in Monmouth, Illinois on April 1, 1931 to George & Pauline Curry. They moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1938. It was there she graduated from high school and met Alphonsus O'Donnell. They were married on April 15, 1950.
Their family grew with the birth of Mike, Kelly and Terri. They eventually relocated to the West settling in Lake Oswego in 1971. Carolyn had a career as a legal assistant and retired at the age of 72. Her many hobbies were working on her HO train set, rooting for the Trail Blazers, and was an avid book reader. She also devoted a lot of time and energy to her beautiful yard.
She was an active parishioner at St. Francis Catholic Church. She was commissioned as Stephen Minister for the church and was very serious in her commitment to this position.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister Patricia Hubbard. She is survived by her son Mike O'Donnell of Tigard, daughters Kelly Ewing (Dennis) of Springfield and Terri Fuller (Jack) of Forest Grove, brother Bill Curry (Sue) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and sisters Sandy McEnany (Al) of Litchfield Park, Arizona; Gloria Cargin (Denny) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Kathy Gusta (Jimmy) of Marion, Iowa. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is planned on Saturday April 13, 2013 at 10:30 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church in Sherwood, Oregon.
A reception will follow the service.
Inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery at 3:00 PM on Friday May 31, 2013.
