Charles Junior Flinn, better known to everyone as "Chuck", "Chuckie" or "GP" was born June 9, 1927 in Hugo, Colorado. He served in the US Navy during World War Two and received an honorable discharge in August of 1946.
A few months later he married his high school sweetheart Josephine Irene Rossenoff, known to all as "Jo", on June 29, 1947. They later moved to Lakewood, California where they had two children and lived happily for sixty one years. Chuck and Jo spent a lot of time water skiing with their children. They enjoyed square dancing and loved to go camping in Colorado and Arizona with their grandchildren Lisa and Travis. Chuck was a mechanic and worked for Evans Truck Line when he retired. Chuck and Jo went to Yuma, Arizona almost every winter visiting their many retired friends. They also regularly visited their daughter and two grandsons in Oregon.
After Jo's death in December 2008, Chuck's daughter brought him to live with her in Oregon in January of 2011. After his arrival in Tigard, Oregon you could find Chuck riding a motor cycle with his grandson Travis or boating along the Willamette River with his grandson Tim. Chuck's favorite pass time was riding along the country roads of Oregon with his daughter Connie. He couldn't wait for his favorite stop at McDonald's for a cheese burger with pickles followed by a strawberry sundae for dessert.
One of Chuck's most memorable times while in Oregon was a ride on a hot air balloon for his 84th birthday. Chuck will be missed for his joyful laughter and countless stories. He is survived by his son; Steve Flinn, his daughter; Connie Lavinger, Granddaughter; Lisa West, Grandsons; Travis and Timothy Lavinger and two Great Grandchildren; Tara and Ryan West.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Young's Funeral Home, Tigard, Oregon
