

A long time resident of Orinda, Ca and a recent resident of Tualatin, OR died suddenly at his birthday celebration dinner among family and close friends. He was born in Paia, Maui, HI and raise in Honolulu, HI. Cris graduated from Hawaiian Mission Academy. He enlisted in the U.S. Army including one year in Korea in 1958.
He went back to school and graduated from San Jose State with a B.S. in Microbiology and later earned a Masters Degree in Public Health Microbiology. Cris spent his entire career at the Microbial Diseases Laboratory of the State Department of Public Health in Berkeley, CA and later became the Chief Parasitologist who was the resource for the Local Public Health Labs across the State of CA
Cris met the love of his life, Donna Rose Maher, on a lab sponsored trip to Sun Valley,. Idaho. Cris is survived by his wife of 41 yrs: his sisters Primitiva Ranoa Gador of Fremont, CA; Myrtle T. Valles ( Robert Valles) of Daly City CA; and Sarah T. Suarez of San Francisco, CA, and his brother, Charles F. Maher (Barbara A. Maher) and Louis E. Maher (Sandy). He was preceded in death by his parents, Crispin S. Taclindo, Sr. and Fortunata Amor Taclindo; sisters Cora T. Lazo; Arcadia A. Light, Rosaline T. Genovia; and Irene T. Gregorio.
Cris was respected and beloved by his sisters, many nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flower, donations can be sent to School of Public Health at University of Hawaii, Manoa Campus or your favorite charity. Please send to his home or the mortuary for them to be forwarded. .
Services will be held at Young’s Funeral Home, 11831 SW Pacific Highway, Tigard, OR on April 17th at 3pm, visitation will take place one hour prior to services at Young’s Funeral Home.
