Francis Anthony Riedl was the middle of five children born to Vincent and Anna Riedl formerly of Milwaukie, on November 8, 1927. He attended St. Thomas Military School in St. Paul, MN and graduated from Central Catholic High School.
He met the love of his life, Joyce Watts (Riedl) when they both were teaching at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio and they were married on February 18, 1950. Dancing remained their life-long passion.
Frank worked as a lumber broker and carpenter for his family owned mill Oregon Woodwork and later Oregon Molding & Lumber, and his own company F&A Millwork. He served in the US Marine Corp. and was a 40-year member of the Our Lady of the Lake choir where his tenor voice resounded.
Frank is survived by his wife Joyce, sister Agnes Obritschkewitsch, and eight children: Greg Riedl (Chris), Mike Riedl (Jan), Karen Beaudoin (Neil), Gary Riedl (Emily), Dan Riedl (Huong), Donna Jordan (Bob), Patty Dockstader (Todd), and Bob Riedl, 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The service will be held on Friday, December 14th at 11am at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Oswego. Memorials may be made on behalf of the family to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
