Fred John Lawrence

Living. Fred was born April 17th 1921 to his parents, Reuben R. Lawrence and Mary B. Johnson

Lawrence.

He grew up in Kent Washington and served as a Marine in the South Pacific during WWII. He was very

proud to have served in the Marines. He graduated from Kent High School in 1940; Seattle Pacific

College in 1949; and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1954. He pastored churches in West

Conshohochen, Pennsylvania; Pullman Washington; Bethlehem Baptist, in Lake Oswego, Oregon; and

Church of Our Redeemer, in Tigard, Oregon. He married Helen Thomas of Kent, WA, in 1946, after WWII.

They had 5 children together; He married Sherill McCroskey in 1985.

He leaves behind his children; Lynnette Jackson of Longview, Washington; Gordon Lawrence of West

Linn, Oregon; David Lawrence of Beaver Creek, Oregon; and Randall Lawrence of Sequin, Texas.; 6

grandchildren; 4 gr-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and nephew, Spence Spencer. He

was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Mary Lawrence; his sisters, Lois Spencer and Ruth

Lawrence; His wives, Helen Thomas Lawrence and Sherill McCroskey Lawrence; a son, Steven Lawrence;

great-granddaughter, Celia Standley; and all those church family members who are brothers and sisters

in Christ. He will be missed by many, but we know he is present with the Lord. The family wants to give a

special thanks to his care giver, Lisa Jackson, for her tireless efforts during these last few years.

The memorial service will be held at Young’s Funeral Home, 11831 SW Pacific Highway, Tigard, OR;

Tuesday, 1 March at 4:00 PM; Viewing is open that day from noon till closing.
