Gabrielle "Abbe" Dennis

Gabrielle Jonna Dennis, known as Abbe to family and friends, 49, of Beaverton, Oregon, passed away on December 18, 2018.

Born in San Rafael, California on February 20, 1969, Abbe was adopted by Sallie and Gabriel Sugarman. Together with her brother Peter, Abbe and the family moved to Portland, Oregon in the summer of 1973. Abbe attended The Madeleine School, Beaumont Middle School, and graduated from Ulysses S. Grant High School before moving on to earn an associate’s degree in equine management from Treasure Valley Community College, in Ontario, Oregon.

In 1993 Abbe met David Dennis, and the two quickly became inseparable. They were married on August 29, 1999 and their son, Daniel, arrived in 2003. In the third grade Daniel came home with a flyer for Cub Scouts, and the Dennis family has been involved in the Scouting program ever since. Abbe was an Assistant Den Leader with Pack 383, and served on the Committee for Troop 419. She enjoyed camping, and also had a passion for participating in Boards of Review to help youth advance towards the rank of Eagle Scout.

Abbe had a career in customer service for firms like Equifax, BakeMark, Star Park, Bittner & Hahs and others. She loved animals of all kinds - especially horses and dogs. Abbe delighted in listening to music, reading books, viewing and creating art, being in the outdoors (especially on the Oregon coast) and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.

Abbe is survived by her husband, David Dennis and son, Daniel Dennis. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sallie, brother, Peter and father, Gabe.

A celebration of Abbe’s life will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 2:00 pm at Young’s Funeral Home in Tigard, Oregon.
