
Gerald "Jerry" Leo Holt Jr., aged 68, passed away on July 25, 2024, in Tigard, Oregon. Born on August 23, 1955, in Mt. Home, Idaho, Jerry lived a life marked by devotion to his large family and service to his country. Jerry served proudly as a Seebee in the US Navy, was also a dedicated member of the Coast Guard and served in the US Army. This military career showed his diverse talents and his never-ending commitment to the nation’s safety and values. Outside of his military service Jerry was successful in many areas of business including his self-determination and grit while beginning and running his own business until COVID shut him down like so many others. Jerry was a quiet man but you always knew what he was thinking. He took solace in spending time with his family and a had a deep love for outdoor activities including fishing, hunting and camping in his younger years. He loved spending time with his family and you could always catch him watching a Yankees game anytime between spring and the fall. Jerry is survived by a loving and extensive family including his father, Gerald Leo Holt Sr. "Wolf" and wife Nadine “Moon"; His son, Gerald Leo Holt III, “Leo" and wife Elizabeth and granddaughters, Aubree Holt and Amanda Sapwell. He also leaves behind a vast extended family, who will miss him dearly. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Holt; daughter, Cheraine Shofner; grandsons, Lee and Brian Shofner; and his beloved wife, Joni Holt. Arrangements for Jerry are being handled by Young's Funeral Home located in Tigard, Oregon with burial at Willamette National Cemetery. Jerry's life will be celebrated and remembered for his unwavering love for his family, and his service to the country.
