

Glen Kuykendall passed away on April 1, 2014, after a multi-year struggle with cardiac problems. He was born in Drain, Oregon to Al and Edna Kuykendall. After a few years in various Southern Oregon locations, the family settled in Grants Pass where Glen grew up. He graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1954 and graduated from University of Oregon in 1958 with a degree in Business Administration with a focus in accounting.
After college, Glen served in the U.S. Navy as the Supply Officer aboard a destroyer in the western Pacific. Later he worked as an accountant in Eugene and was certified as a Certified Public Accountant.
Glen continued his education at the law school at University of California Berkeley and graduated in 1966. He then moved to Portland where he met Marietta Lind, his wife-to-be.
Glen worked in law firms in Portland, specializing in business and securities law. For many years he served as a corporate counsel for Georgia Pacific Corporation while it was headquartered in Portland. Subsequently, he was a vice president and corporate counsel for Kyle Railways, a company of short-line railroads. In the latter years of his career, he taught business law part time at Portland State University.
In retirement, Glen was able to pursue his love of travel and exploring new places. They traveled extensively abroad and around the United States. He enjoyed volunteering for Medical Teams International and as a Stephen Minister at his church. He will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful gentleman with a quick wit.
Glen is survived by his wife of more than 45 years, Marietta; sisters Nita Hamblin of Salem and Judy Pyle of Grants Pass; brother Ed Kuykendall (Rachel) of Gresham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 1:00 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Beaverton. In lieu of flowers the family would welcome donations to Medical Teams International or St. Matthew Lutheran Church Foundation.
