Meyer, Ingrid Sophia (Carlson) 90 Sept. 14, 1923 Jan. 31, 2014 Ingrid Sophia (Carlson) Meyer was born Sept. 14, 1923, at Catching Inlet outside Coos Bay. She passed away on Jan. 31, 2014. Married to and survived by her loving spouse, Alvin Henry Meyer; and her children and their spouses, Marshall (Dana), Lloyd (Marie), Douglas (Jacque), Dennis (Janet) and Gayle (Michael). The family said goodbye on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, on her and Al's 66th wedding anniversary. She and Al lived in their home in Tigard for more than 60 years. Ingrid was known for her love and dedication to her family, including grandchildren, Eryn, Allison, Justin, Ryan, Nataly, Robin, Hannah, Adrian, Briana, Kristopher and Eric. Ingrid was valedictorian of her graduating class at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay. She was extremely proud of the fact that all five of her children attended and graduated from college. Ingrid was renowned for canning Al's garden produce and her cooking, especially delicious Grandma Meyer dinner rolls, cookies, potato salad, jams and jellies. She loved sewing her own clothes and making quilts for family and friends. She and Al spent many years of retirement traveling and camping in their trailer at destinations throughout the United States and especially enjoyed many winters in Arizona. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 11305 S.W. Bull Mountain Road in Tigard.
