He was born in Eureka, California to Betty Sain and John Armour, one of five children, Jim is survived by two brothers Roy Armour and Richard Armour.
Jim was the devoted husband of Sharon Armour, also of King City, married in 1963. They have three children; James Armour, Dawn Ann Reis and Cheryl Starr. Grandchildren include Anthony Reis, Athena Reis, Ashley Duncan, Brittani Mills, Benjamin Filkins, Melinda Armour, Jason Duncan, along with ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jim proudly served as a US Marine entering when he was just 18, serving in Vietnam and retiring honorably in 1979. He went on to work for UPS, in Southern California where he again retired in 1999. When Jim moved to King City with Sharon in 1999, he developed a passion for serving the community through the Lion’s Club; a member for 15 years and was particularly in charge of the convalescent equipment for the community. Jim was also passionate about the KCCA, where he served for eight years and was currently campaigning to be elected back into the board of directors; in the past he was a community activist and was on the King City planning commission.
Jim’s hobbies included fishing, golf, cars and his little dog Nicholas.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday May 12, at 2pm, at the King City Civic Association Club House. The family requests that donations be made to the King City Lion’s Club in lieu of flowers.
