Jeanne Kathleen Sellers was born to Gordon and Agnes Parker in Portland, Oregon on January 16, 1933. 5 years later her brother Jim joined their family. She grew up in the Overlook neighborhood of Portland where she attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School then graduated from Immaculata High School.
Jeanne attended the University of Portland for a short time where she met Roy Bonn. They married in July, 1954 and over the next 10 years had 6 children – Katie Danielson (Bill), Barbara Trachtenberg (John), Greg Bonn (Karen), Brian Bonn (Lori), Jim Bonn (Michelle) and Diane Chamberlin (John). During their marriage they moved frequently and eventually moved back to the Overlook area in a home a few doors away from her parents. These were good years as they lived near family and made lifelong friends.
After Jeanne and Roy divorced, a friend of hers introduced her to Cliff Sellers whom she married in November, 1987. He brought his son Monte (Karen) and his children to their marriage. They adopted Buddy, the only dog she owned and whom she grew to love.
Over their 25 years of marriage they traveled until Jeanne’s health made it too difficult. They enjoyed getting together with friends for an evening of cards and drinks. She volunteered for 20 years at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital, which she was very proud of. She was an avid reader. Jeanne had a great sense of humor and loved to tease.
Jeanne moved to foster care after a stroke left her unable to take care of herself. She lived at Rooted Care Communities for the past two years where she was well taken care of by loving and dedicated caretakers. Kindred Hospice helped with her care for her last months.
Jeanne leaves her six children and their spouses, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as her stepson and spouse, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her parents, brother, and husband Cliff preceded her in death. Jeanne was loved and will be missed.
