John Patrick Boatwright passed away September 18, 2026 at his residence in Tigard, Oregon and grew up in Albany. He was a 1977 graduate of West Albany High School, and went onto Oregon State University in Corvallis, and got his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Oregon Graduate Institute in Hillsboro, Oregon. He worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer for Tektronics, Intel Corp; then, for over 35 years running his own Electrical Engineering Company in Portland and held many US Patents.
He is survived by his children: Michael, Chris, T.J., Paul, Phillip, and Kimberly Boatwright, and his brothers, David, Steven, Jim, Danny and sister Diana. A private memorial service is pending. He’s missed already.
