

He graduated from Pomeroy High in 1934 and Whitman College in 1938. During high school and college, he played the fiddle in a country western band called, The Pomeroy Wranglers. He loved country western music and you could often hear Eddie Arnold tunes coming from his home.
September 1, 1940, he married Lucille Price. He started work as a chemist and accountant at a small family owned flour mill called Preston Shaeffer, in Waitsburg, WA. As transfers occurred, the family lived in Milton-Freewater, WA, Walla Walla, WA, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR. He retired from Centennial Mills in 1982.
In 1997, Jack and Lucille moved to the retirement community of Summerfield in Tigard, OR, where they enjoyed many old and new friends. Jack was active in the Capitol Hill United Methodist Church, worked as a volunteer income tax preparer at Multnomah Senior Center and enjoyed golf, playing pinochle and Mexican train, gardening, square dancing and family gatherings.
Jack was predeceased by his wife, Lucille Graham, in 2009. His family includes his son, Robert Graham and his wife, Diane Graham, of Carlton, OR, and three daughters, Elinor Graham and her husband, Steve Gary, of Seattle, WA, Janice Gould and her husband, Terry Gould, of Portland, OR, and Mary Muir and her husband, Steve Muir, also of Portland, OR. Twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, all of who will miss his support, wit and sage advice, also survive him.
A memorial service will be held on May 6, 2017, at 2 PM, at the Tigard United Methodist Church, in Tigard, Or. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Oregon Food Bank.
