John Wallace Havery

John was born in White Plains, N.Y., to John and Dorothy Havery. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 and retired in 1965. John taught electronics at Washington High School in Portland, worked for the Oregon Department of Education in Salem, and graduated from Marylhurst University in 1991. He was a member of the Tigard Orenomah Lodge 207 and the Scottish Rite, and a Navy Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS) volunteer for 40 years.

John married Madelon L. Michaelson in 1957 and is survived by his wife and their daughters, Anna F. Havery and Maria L. Reed. He is also survived by his daughters, Yvonne M. DeVincent, Margo A. Hannah and Debra T. Lewis; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A private family gathering is planned.
