He graduated from Oregon State University in June 1964 and became a Civil Engineer. He dedicated his career to improving the traffic flow in many cities of Oregon, and was instrumental in the implementation of MAX light rail service in Portland. His co-workers remember him as a kind friend and supportive mentor. His greeting of good day, demonstrates his kind and efficient style.
On March 17, 1968, he married Susan and together they raised their four children - Eric, Cherie, Scott, and Katrina. As a husband he was generous and supportive. As a father he was encouraging of pursuing interests and living by standards of honesty and loyalty. Underneath his calm and regimented personality, was a jokester with a cheery smile. At home he enjoyed watching movies and playing board, dice, and card games with his family and friends. A one-on-one game or group game was always approached with quiet contemplation, as any true competitor would. Over his lifetime he pursued many hobbies, such as fishing, bowling, woodworking, watch tinkering, clay work, and rock collecting.
Keith passed away peacefully, during a quiet snowfall, on February 26, 2017. The final years of his life gave him an opportunity to model acceptance of what is, while maintaining a confident spirit. He lived his life following his principles and never complained. He cared deeply for those in his life by offering calm reassurance, words of wisdom, and supportive guidance.
In lieu of flowers, Keith wished for charitable donations to be made to the Boy Scouts of America. https://aplacetogive.scouting.org/magento/index.php/give-to-national-scouting.html
