

She passed to her heavenly home within 2 weeks from being admitted.
Laura Kay was born in Morgantown, West Virginia while her father was serving in the Korean War. After his
return, Thomas and his wife, Esther Waite, moved with Laura to the Skycomish , Washington area.
Her father was employed there by the Department of Agriculture, working for the, U.S. Forest Service.
She attended Lynnwood Elementary School in the Seattle, Washington area and finished her education in Beaverton,
Oregon. Growing up she enjoyed girl scouts, the piano, and sewing.
Laura became the proud mother of Sandy May Johnson in 1974. She enjoyed Sandy's life of music playing the violin
and her talent in sports during her educational years.
Laura enjoyed camping and spending time at the beach with her family.
She sought God at a young age and was involved with her youth programs.
Laura was a hard worker and started her career as an "Inventory Control Clerk" at Circle A.W. Her accuracy and math skills opened up several jobs in the accounts payable and receivable departments, running a 10 key machine.
Two of her employers were Boise International and Oregon Business Novelties. She rose to a clerking and accounting position at Stanton Industry. Her final employment was at Oregon Nurses Association as a Program Assistant to Member Services.
She was a real asset to the Members of the Union, and worked for ONA about 17 years.
Laura is survived by her three siblings, brothers: Kenneth A Waite and Daniel O. Waite and sister, Linda A Viozzi,
Nephews, Ryan Viozzi, Luke Viozzi,
Nieces, Brook Welch, Mandy Braden and Kendra Viozzi
Laura is predeceased by her parents, Esther Rogers and Thomas Waite, and her daughter Sandy Johnson.
Laura lived a life giving her time to helping many. She loved to crochet and used her talents by making hats, blankets and rugs for
the homeless or the less fortunate in Haiti and other parts of the world. She loved serving with the other women at Beaverton Christian
Church and led out in the Silk Sewing Program, where they made cloths for the women and children in Haiti.
Laura was a wonderful women, willing to share her love of Jesus Christ, and the peace and strength she carried she attributed to her
relationship with Him.
Laura was an inspiration to many and will be deeply missed.
Service is to be held, Saturday, Aug 26, 2017 at Beaverton Christian Church at 10:00 am.
