Lee Miller Fritz passed away peacefully on Thursday January 17 at Touchmark Bend. She was born in Rainier, Oregon, to William and Wilma Kurtz. She was christened as Leota, but changed her name later to Lee.
Lee grew up in Arlington, Oregon, In 1940 she moved to Portland, Oregon and worked in the ship yards to support the war effort. In 1942 she married Lynn Miller. They had three children: Linda, Roy and Gwen. In 1947 the family moved to the Philippines where Lynn worked to get the Dole pineapple canning operation back on track after it was heavily bombed during World War II.
Lee and Lynn moved their family to Tigard, Oregon in 1950. Lee worked for Boyd and Miller Motors, later worked for Tigard Water District and Tigard School District. In the 1960’s Lee became a successful realtor working for Arthur Ames Realty, and later for Sam Gotter Real Estate. Also during the ‘60s, Lee and Lynn purchased a home on acreage on 103rd Street and undertook the development of what would become Del Monte Subdivision. Lynn Miller passed away in 1970.
Lee married Edward Fritz in 1973 and became step mother of Craig, Donna, Diane and Becky. Lee continued her real estate career for several more decades. She and Ed loved the beach and Lincoln City became a second home. Lee is survived by her husband Ed, Linda Nelson (Guy), Roy Miller and wife Debby, Craig Fritz, Donna Robichaud (Glen), and Becky Buckmann (Henry). Gwen Pearson (Bill), and Diane Fritz (Don Warkentin) predeceased her. Lee’s loving, caring staff at Touchmark have also become part of her extended family.
