Louise was born in Talihina, OK., the youngest child of Cecil and Jennie Boren. She joined four brothers and a sister, who all have predeceased her as well as her husband of 58 years, John Carl Fincher and granddaughter, Maci Sue Fincher Russell. She is survived by her children, Bob L. (Janyce), Carleta M. LeDuc (Jim) and Ronald L. (Miriam), 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Louise and Carl eloped to Adair, OK, and were married on September 20, 1941. In 1943, Carl was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corp during WW II and proudly served in the invasion of Okinawa, returning home when the war ended in 1945.
In 1948, our family moved west in a Model T Ford to Oregon, leaving behind most of our family and friends. We lived briefly in Lake Oswego, Sherwood, and eventually settling in the Tigard area. In 1956 Mom went to work at Tektronix, in Beaverton, OR, after obtaining her driver's license at the age of 31. She retired from Tektronix, after 20 years due to RA. After Dad retired in 1983, they spent much of their time gardening and raising raspberries, blueberries and marionberries. We couldn't wait until they ripened each year! They joined the Elsie Stuhr Senior Center in Beaverton, OR., and made many new friends. Despite her disability, our mother became quite the pool player and so enjoyed teaming up against our dad! When Dad passed away in 1999, Mom moved to King City, OR., and eventually settling in Vancouver, WA., to be closer to her children. With her health and memory declining, she moved to Merrill Gardens in Vancouver, WA., in January of this year.
We will always love and miss you, Mom.
